Had an incredible boat tour with great guides, Memo and Cesar. Very knowledgeable about the birds and marine life on Marietas Islands. We had a great time snorkeling and seeing the blue footed boobie birds!
We went whale watching with Punta Mita Adventures. If you only do one thing while in Mexico, you have to do this!
We were on a small boat and there were 5 in our party. Our leader was Memo and our Captain of the boat was Cesar. Memo said Cesar was the best captain in the bay and I believe him.
We were picked up at 10 am. They took us out to the bay and told us what to look for: bursts of water being blown into the air, the whale itself or other boats. Within 20 minutes of getting on the boat we saw whales. It is one of the more exhilarating experiences you will ever have. You cannot take in there for pictures and videos of the whales.
For the next 3 hours, we followed 4 different groups of whales. About 2 hours into our trip, Memo opened an underwater microphone and put it into the water. Seeing the whales was great, but hearing them while seeing them was amazing.
We returned about 1 pm. It was an amazing experience. This is something you have to do. Ask for Memo and Cesar, they add great value to your experience.
The highlight of this trip was our privately chartered boat to Yelapa. Oscar, our AMAZING guide and Pancho, our Captain, made sure our day was perfect. ...and it was beyond excellent! The boat ride over to this quaint fishing village yielded multiple whale sightings that were up close and personal. Oscar’s knowledge of these beautiful creatures made it that much more enjoyable. Once on the island, Oscar’s impeccable timing made our sightseeing crowd free. The day culminated in the most amazing lunch by the sea! I can not say enough about Oscar, Pancho and the staff at Punta Mita Adventures. We want to go back and explore more because of these people!! If you are going to Punta Mita, this is the adventure you need to do!!
I was part of a group that went out with the Neptune crew. Our fantastic crew members (Omar, Margarito and Cristian) were clearly very passionate and knowledgable about the local area, the wildlife and (importantly) about its ongoing preservation.
The journey out was pleasurable and our guides were constantly pointing out areas of interest and telling us about them. The snorkling was incredible, we were well looked after and staying close to our guides meant we would always have aquatic wildlife pointed out to us that we may have otherwise easily missed.
SUP was brilliant fun and a great activity that allowed you to really take in the scenery above the water line.
On the journey back we were blessed to see wales breaching and the team made sure that we had an amazing view of these incredible animals but at a respectable distance so as not to disturb them unnecessarily.
All in all, a real standout memory of my time in Mexico made even better by a team of people that couldn't have done more to ensure we were safe, comfortable and made to feel very welcome. Thank you, Omar, Margarito and Cristian!
Wow! Alexandro and his son Diego made our surfing adventure an amazing experience! They did everything possible to help us feel comfortable and capable. I was nervous to begin, but their patience, positive attitude and help made us successful. We caught several waves with their expertise and assistance.
I highly recommend Mita Adventures! Put this on your bucket list!
